2016 has seen the Mauritian Open Air Festival become newly branded as the Mauritius Open Air Festival, the event has also recently announced that it will be taking place at a new venue – Gunnersbury Park.
Previously held at Down Lane Park over last six years, this year will see the Mauritius Open Air Festival grow even bigger as it moves to its new location. The change of venue will only further enhance the event’s positive standing amongst other mainstream Festivals across London, according to event organiser Eshan Badal.
“The only thing that has changed is the location, everything else remains the same. Our attendees can expect everything and more that they have experienced at the event over the past six years, including our biggest line up to date.”
The move to Gunnersbury Park comes after the Festival simply outgrew Down Lane Park. The organisers remain unfazed however, and see the change as a positive one and also an opportunity to drive the Festival to become even bigger.
“We have to take it as a compliment. Although we have had some wonderful moments in North London, the previous park can no longer fit the increase in capacity which in a way, is a very rewarding feeling, but even more so – a credit to the Mauritian community,” Badal said.
What is home to the London Mela event, the largest outdoor South Asian Festival – Gunnersbury Park is a renowned and well-celebrated park, and the Mauritius Open Air Festival organisers are proud to have it as the new location this year.
